Gouketsuji Ichizoku (Power Instinct) is a fun fighting game, but original Genesis colors are a bit bland. This color hack makes everything a bit more colorful.

v. 1.0 changes:
* tweaked colors for all stages,
* tweaked colors for all characters,
* tweaked menus, fonts, character select screen, map

Just apply .ips patch on original rom.

Hope you'll like it.

Gouketsuji Ichizoku (aka Power Instinc) is part of a saga created by Atlus, whose last installment was released in 2009.

In this first entry, we are proposed to choose a member of the Gouketsuji Clan to participate in a tournament in which their leader will be chosen.

What makes this game the weakest of the series, is its excessive resemblance to SFII, from whom it takes directly the control style and performance of special moves. Despite this and thanks to its parodic tone, it got a place in the market, having up to 7 installments (being 2 of them revised editions of Part 2 and 5). This 1st part was ported to Super Nintendo & Sega Genesis.

Both ports are very similar, being usual in the Nintendo machine a better use of color and more fluidity in the Sega machine. But, what openly damaged the Genesis version (and something sadly usual in the system) was a bad use of the color palette by the developers, which gives it a dull and unattractive look.

Now, thanks to Dolsilwa, that gap has been closed, leaving us a somewhat SFII clone-like, but with a flawless gameplay and above all, graphics that have regained their brightness and charm, so we can say that the creator of the patch achieves and with good note his purpose.

I strongly recommend to fans of fighting games to try both the game and the hack.
