| While the points learned from the previous work are utilized, new problems also exist. | sukoritai | 2024-01-02 | Version 2.0 |
I played this hack on everdrive and completed it today. The difficulty level seems to be lower than the previous Maura Bros, and there are far fewer jumps on narrow platforms and jumping from waterfall to waterfall. On the other hand, the overall level design feels cramped, with a large amount of thorns scattered all over the place and scaffolding that only a small Mario can jump to due to the low ceiling. There were also some levels that were existing stages that were just slightly changed, or that were almost the same. Above all, what I couldn't forgive the most about this hack was the existence of world5-7. If you are unlucky, no matter how hard you try, you will only make one mistake because the next platform to jump to does not appear when the character is over, and the flying fish's appearance coordinates are random. No matter how much of a hack it is, I think this should not happen in a game. Another thing is that the concept of the stage in world 6-5 would be ruined if it were not free-scrolling. There were some stages with good ideas (world 7-5 in particular was amazing). That alone makes me feel that these defects are a waste. If you adjust the difficulty a little more carefully, you should be able to create a great hack. I look forward to your next work. | |||
