This is a great hack and it's really creative that Corpse Grinder was able to add 2 player simultaneous play for this particular game. The only gripe I have about the hack, which is somewhat minor is that none of the game genie or raw source cheat codes work on this through nestopia, even with changing the game specifications to the game itself. For whatever reason, you can't use cheats which sucks on a game like DD because it's a very hard game. Even if players are lucky enough to make it all the way to Willy without losing a life, he uses a machine gun which makes the second to last boss fight rather difficult to say the least. If you're actually lucky enough to defeat Willy without losing all three of your lives, you still have to beat Jimmy Lee which is no small task itself but definitely much easier than fighting Willy. Being able to use cheats would help make the end of the game much easier and enjoyable. Hopefully, if there is a way to patch the game so that the cheats work again, I'd definitely give it another try. All in all, I'd give this hack a score of 9/10.

If you want to play 2 player at the same time this is fun. I did notice some scrolling oddities, but nothing major. It was great to be able to play couch co-op until the other player died and the level started over. Once the other player lost all his lives it was Game Over. This is so fun, but it is not fun that the game doesn't continue if one player dies. I still recommend this hack, but it would greatly improve if the game did not reset after one player dies. I hope this is changed in the future.

Overall, this hack is the wet dream of many gamers. No graphic bugs noticed. The p2 runs as well as the p1.

What's wrong with it?

1) The HUD is a bit confusing.

2) CPU tends to ignore the p2, which unbalances the game (although it also gives rise to strategies).

3) When a player dies, both characters are sent to the checkpoint (similar to US version of Battletoads).

I still recommend trying it out, especially if you have "something personal" with the Lee twins.

Once again Corpse Grinder does what the original devs should have done, and has given us a superior experience to the original release! The sacrifice of the two-player "duel mode" is no big loss in my estimation. My only real criticism would be that it would be nice if "friendly fire" could be enabled. Also, for some reason the cheats on my Mister no longer work. Otherwise this an essential hack IMHO.
