Aria of Sorrow gets some roguish charmRed Soul2024-02-04Version 1.0

Aria of Sorrow is definitely a technically impressive game that pushes the GBA quite a bit and shows what the little portable that could was able to do.

What if this beloved game had near infinite replayability rather than the well made, but beaten path of a castle it comes with? now it is possible to answer this rather unusual question!

Somewhat similarly to the special modes seen in Mega Man 9, you take Soma through an ever shifting version of Dracula's castle hoping to find good gear, level up, and survive as far as you are able.

As with well known roguelites of today, there is much to discover, synergies and all manner of surprises, and equipment was rebalanced in such a way that each weapon class has unique advantages that make them viable, and this extends to shop prices and every other gameplay factor.

Difficulty scales, rooms have random modifiers to them at times, and the threat of death is ever present, but with so much variety and freshness, it's easy to pick oneself up and try again, you never know how it will go next time!
