Hack description

New Extra Frozen Adventure is the unique byproduct of a crazy experiment and the result of three different hacks combined. They are Extra Adv Edition, New Mario Bros. and Frozen SMB. Combining not only one or two but three different games and getting it to run smoothly is a remarkable achievement especially for a newbie and is quite possibly unprecedented in the world of rom hacking. What this patch does aside from providing entertainment is it changes the overall atmosphere, aesthetics, appearance of things including certain enemies and tiles, as well as the maneuvering logic of Extra Adventure while miraculously keeping the level designs of it in tact.

IMPORTANT:
- Title screen takes on the form of New Mario Bros and has some imperfections due to the previous game being over written

- This is a rebalanced version and is not exactly the same as the original EAE title

NOTE: Apply patch over prepatched Extra Adv Edition. ROM.

Reviews

Nothing new under the sun.Eden.GT2024-02-08Version 1.0

Combined SMB1 Hacks unfortunately have already existed in ROM sets out there and the idea is not original in itself. Of course, anyone is free to do with the base game as he/she pleases, but these sorts of experiments are not ideal to be publicized in general as it overshadows the unique efforts of the original hacks involved.

There is little value of worth brought onto the table, as Extra Adv & New Mario Bros are two separate hacks with the authors' original visions. There aren't any additional, unique changes implemented apart from taking other people's graphics and levels and calling it a day (the results are quite conflicting with the output here), and the only line of anything further changed that I could see here is the copyright text. Across all aspects, it does not display enough novelty to constitute a standalone entry.
