Hack description

The data for the 1996-1997 Satellaview broadcasts BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2 are legitimately lost to time, but the featured courses were preserved in VHS recordings. With ample help from technology, those courses have been accurately recovered, and ALL of F-Zero's Satellaview content has been incorporated into this mod. Apply to the retail version of the game.

F-Zero perfected!Supergamerguy2024-02-25Version 1.0

This is a highly impressive piece of work. F-Zero Deluxe seamlessly brings in content from the Grand Prix games, taking extra care to maintain balance and accessibility. The new cars are a joy to use, with the Blue Thunder quickly becoming my new favorite F-Zero racer. The Grand Prix 1 cups (along with their track variants from the original game) are easily accessible from the menu, as are the brand-new Grand Prix 2 tracks. There's not much more I can saw about this flawless hack, other than that using the Expanded Soundtrack is worth considering. It adds in new remixes for sequel tracks (Big Blue II, Mute City II-V, Death Wind II, etc.), along with brand new (yet still sound-chip accurate) songs for the Grand Prix 2 tracks. It works perfectly with this hack and can be applied to Deluxe with a simple extra patch (make sure to use a SNES emulator that supports MSU-1, for Expanded Soundtrack's PCM music files).

The Ideal Way To Play The SNES F-ZeroSonicMaster5192024-02-17Version 1.0

I'm new when it comes to writing reviews, but both this and F-Zero Hybrid just impressed me so much I knew I had to write reviews on both, so here I am. BS F-Zero Deluxe is, in simplest terms, the best way to play F-Zero. This rom hack focuses on reincorporating the original Satellaview content into the game. This means vehicles, courses, and even a Ghost system has been completely implemented into the game!

For starters, the courses are a delight to play through. I found Mute City IV to be my general least favorite and the Metal Fort stages to be a little too bland, but that's not knocking on the rom hack creators themselves: It's just how the original courses are. New courses are always fun and the two new leagues are a blast, so what does it matter? Cool stuff!

The new vehicles are, put simply, SUPER FREAKING COOL! They're very fun to use and, while they generally overshadow the original vehicles, they're still fairly balanced. I primarily used the Satellaview yellow one called the Luna Bomber and it was good fun. It functioned similarly to the Golden Fox in that it has low durability, but despite the Golden Fox being my least favorite vehicle in the original F-Zero, this new machine ended up being my favorite of the bunch.

Overall, this is probably the definitive version of F-Zero. The only reason I could see anybody preferring the original version more is for simplicity's sake, which I get. New content is cool and all, but I can understand why some people would prefer a more minimal game. Despite that, I am not one of those people and I am delighted this exists. If you enjoy F-Zero in any way, shape, or form, definitely give this hack a shot. It's a blast.

Amazing work of preservationLigeia2024-02-16Version 1.0

This is the kind of hack I love the most, the kind of "deluxe" version that Nintendo would put out nowadays on Nintendo Switch Online if they cared. With this hack all the elusive BS additional content gets included into what can be without a doubt considered the definitive version of the SNES F-Zero, finally complete. The people involved in this have my upmost respect.

If I had one nitpick, it would be that Forest and Metal Fort don't have their own musical themes, and the choice of the Red Canyon theme for Metal Fort I feels especially anticlimactic for one of the final tracks of the game. There's some nice attempts on YouTube at recreating themes for these track environments, so if something could be done to include the best ones in the game, the hack would simply be perfect in my eyes.

Amazing work !

A Dream Come TrueJulianoFdeS2024-02-15Version 1.0

I always, ALWAYS, wanted to play the BS F-Zero exclusive courses (Florest and Metal Fort) and, even though I know it's a recreation and not the original content restored, I can say I'm satisfied.

All the vanilla content, and the bonus restoration + recreation content makes this the definitive way to play this game.

This is the best hack ever released for F-Zero.

My mostly deep respect for everyone involved.

Lost content no more!MetalSmasher862024-02-15Version 1.0

Ever since I first watched a VCR recording of BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2 on YouTube (which was apparently reuploaded from Nicovideo) featuring the long-lost Forest and Metal Fort tracks, I hoped that somebody would find a way to make them playable to the public. And now, finally, my wish has been granted!

With all the original, Satellaview, and lost-to-time tracks, vehicles, and features (Practice ghosts!) all together in one package, as well as having all 25 tracks unlocked for Practice mode, there is literally no reason to play any other version of the OG F-Zero! Thank you for making this!

Truly the Best F-Zero Experiencekhilendel2024-02-13Version 1.0

With every single piece of vanilla, Satallaview and recreated lost content, there is nothing this hack falls short on, and should be any F-Zero fan's first stop if you are looking for more of the "classic" F-Zero experience!

Multiple versions of tracks which got changes in later Satellaview broadcasts can be accessed with L+R during practice mode, or played in their complete leagues by pressing L+R during League Select.

The new maps are just part (admittedly, an EXTREMELY special part) of the BS-Deluxe experience.

All 8 cars (4 vanilla + 4 from BS), custom menus, and even a little easter egg for highly skilled players... all things that can't be done in public tools, but the team spared no effort doing it all manually, to give us the best experience!

10/10. If you want more F-Zero, this is where you should start.

RH do that Nintendon'tHaruyuki Hyo2024-02-12Version 1.0

That's why I love the RH community, they go beyond the conventional and apply new life to those old ones, learn from this Nintendo, because seriously this is a way to rescue those tracks that were lost in the SatellaView systems, Without a doubt a great detail for all the work done here, until the moment I have tested the game there have been no problems, without a doubt a good way to expand the classic F-Zero

The definitive SNES F-ZeroDarthMarino2024-02-11Version 1.0

This is the perfect version of the original F-Zero with all the officially released content merged into one game. The highlight is obviously the five newly recreated "lost" tracks but having a choice of which vehicle set to use, a hidden option to play the Satellaview Cups the way they were originally presented (press L+R) and replay ghosts in practice mode is the icing on the cake. There's no need to play the original version of the game ever again.
