Hack description

A mod that makes Toadette the main character instead of Mario!

Features:

-All of Mario's sprites replaced with Toadette's, including the ending parade ones and the retro sprites.
-UI Icons and textures that reference Mario changed to reflect Toadette, including stuff like badges or the BP icon.
-Title screen and partner images (those one are the same but with Mario removed).
-Text changes, both dialogue and menu text. Characters will acknowledge you as Toadette and will use the correct pronouns. Certain dialogues were added or changed to make some things make more sense, like an explanation as to why letters arrive in Mario's house even though you are Toadette, among other things. A few characters talk about Mario and his whereabouts, so it's not like he just doesn't exist.
-A small Mario cameo at some point in the game.
-The Pause Menu Fix Global Patch by Quackles, to prevent problems in certain emulators in some PCs.

Known Issues:

-Toadette's sprites break a bit when going through a pipe or sleeping at a Toad house. This is due to her sprites having a larger width than Mario's. Not much that can be done about it sadly, it's not too distracting though.

What a cute, fantastic hack! I adore both Toadette and Paper Mario, so I immediately had to get out the CRT and the N64 controller for this one and I'm really glad I did! The sprites are utterly adorable and it feels almost completely seamless. My favorite part, other than the sprites, are the little changes in dialogue... it's a fantastic touch and it gives playing as Toadette a very different vibe without changing any of the core gameplay. There were a few minor grammatical errors I noticed, mostly about capitalization - one changed line in Peach's letter, and one of the female Toads in Peach's castle, both had lowercase letters at the start of the sentence when it should have been uppercase. Other than that, the lines fit in so perfectly I legitimately couldn't always tell what was a new line and what was an old one! My other minor suggestion is that I'd love to see even more dialogue changes, just because I think that's such a cute aspect of this hack. For instance, while I definitely interpreted Goombario being so excited and confident about Toadette as him cheering her on, I feel like it could be a fun opportunity to reflect Toadette's character more if that was more explicit! I think it'd be cute to see characters reassuring Toadette about filling Mario's shoes, especially since Bowser thinks she doesn't have what it takes. Regardless, this is SUCH a cute hack. It constantly made me smile and I had to register just to sing my praises. Thank you so much! 3

I've always desired a complete remake of this game on Switch, but it never happened. SO this new Paper Mario version makes me very happy. I hope that title screen will be modified in another version, it will feel even better Many thanks

Honestly, playing as Toadette while everyone acknowledges her is actually pretty refreshing! I definitely recommend it for those who wanted to revisit Paper Mario 64 with a different character!
