Hack description

F-Zero: Vintage Velocity is a remake of the 15 courses and 3 Series (Knight, Queen, King) from the original SNES game within the Maximum Velocity game engine. Play through these familiar courses with a very different feel. You can play solo, or link up to 4 other people running the same rom to race with up to 4 players. A mysterious new series, the Rook series, can be unlocked by beating the 3 regular series on Expert.

The data for the courses is pulled from GP Legend and Climax's Platinum Cups, whenever possible. Some modifications were made to courses to account for Maximum Velocity's differing physics engine. The 5 SNES courses that were not present in GP Legend or Climax have been remade within the GBA format. All vehicles are unlocked by default.

This is it!tone_gamer2024-04-16Version 1.0

Recently, I got deep into the F-Zero franchise.. specifically the GBA releases. I think they are terribly underrated. With that said, I feel as though Maximum Velocity falls short of the other two GBA titles. My favorite being GP Legend.

But this hack may change that. The graphical advancements and loose controls complement the SNES tracks so well. These F-Zero games play differently from all the others, but they're incredibly engaging.

Adding the SNES maps was just what Maximum Velocity needed for me to fall in love with it. They are so much better than the default maps with in the game.

This feels like a remake of the SNES game. Though it handles differently there is so much to enjoy.

Great remake !ChrisRemixLongplays2024-04-15Version 1.0

That's my type of hack. Remaking the SNES tracks in the Maximum Velocity engine is a great idea, and it works really well. This makes MV on par with Mario Kart Super Circuit in this aspect.

I only got one complaint since I'm obsessed with music : it is still the same music as the original Maximum Velocity, remixes of the SNES tracks would make the hack complete.

100% recommended !
