Hack description

Over the years, OutRun has built up quite the musical legacy through its many
releases, inspiring an entire genre of audio in the process. This patch for the
Sega Saturn release of the game, still seen by many as one of the very best home
console ports OutRun has received, replaces the arranged tracks exclusive to
that version with a number of tracks from other OutRun ports. Specifically, the
three bonus tracks included in the 2016 vinyl release of OutRun's soundtrack are
provided here.

In addition, a tutorial document is included if you're interested in adding your
own music to this port of OutRun, including instructions on editing the in-game
text to reflect your changes.

Track listing is as follows:
- Arcade mode track 1 - Magical Sound Shower
- Arcade mode track 2 - Passing Breeze
- Arcade mode track 3 - Splash Wave
- Extra mode track 1 - Step on Beat (Mega Drive)
- Extra mode track 2 - Cruising Line (3DS)
- Extra mode track 3 - Camino A Mi Amor (3DS)

Apply the xdelta patches to the corresponding BIN files in a BIN/CUE format
archive of the REV A/v1.102 NTSC-J version of Sega Ages OutRun. These patches
should not be applied to the earlier (v1.005) revision of the game, nor should
they be applied to the western Sega Ages Volume 1 release.

This hack has been tested on a PAL VA5 Saturn through CD-R, and via the Kronos
emulator. At least one user has encountered issues with the track 1 game data
patch when playing via Fenrir - please contact me via the ROMHacking
forums if you encounter the same, if you have success using the track 1 patch
via Fenrir, or should you encounter issues when playing via any other ODE.

Update in v1.1: Pack now includes both the arcade soundfont and original Mega Drive versions of Step on Beat.

Works great* and I'm happy that instructions are included on audio specifics with this game. Ended up boosting the volume levels of all tracks before peaking levels, to have the music be loud enough to not get drown out by the engine noise. I also replaced the Mega Drive track with an arcade reconstruction of the same song. With the additional modern tracks and the music levels upped, the Saturn port becomes the perfect Outrun experience! Just remember to enable the secret 60FPS code first, which runs without any hiccups on real hardware. *For real hardware users, avoid patching track 1, which contains the game itself with the edited track names. The edited text bugs out on real hardware and the game crashes right back to the Saturn menu after loading. This doesn't happen with emulation. As of version 1.0, hopefully this gets fixed in a later version.
