Hack description

The King of Fighters '94: Team Edit Edition

The King of Fighters '94 was the first KOF game and the only one to lack a team edit feature. This hack adds team edit. It is a very thorough hack, with custom teams shown throughout all aspects of the game. It's very close to being like the game always had this feature.

This hack involves patching multiple files. It is easier to build the hack at its website: https://neorh.mattgreer.dev/kof94

---- Version 1.4.0 update ----

Version 1.4.0 is the final version of the hack. It adds new character portraits on the character select screen created by Bunny-Head (both styles are an option you can choose when building the rom), lots and lots of polish and bug fixing, and critical changes to make the hack work correctly on the MiSTer.

--- Version 1.4.1 update ----

This version fixes one bug. When choosing Rugal with the debug dip, the sound would cut out. That is now fixed. Unless another bad bug is found, 1.4.1 should hopefully be it.

Classic KOF, but better!aorin12024-06-12Version 1.2.4

KOF 1994 has a distinct SNK classic feel that changed quickly in the upcoming years, and since its sequels are much more popular, it's a shame the original isn't enjoyed as it should.

A mod to edit the teams like in 1995 and onwards wasn't expected at this point, but it's much appreciated and breathes new life into this classic!

It was very good and similar to the remake that SNK released for the PlayStation 2 in 2004. I recommend it to anyone who still likes the classic version of the game.
