Absolutely GLORIOUS!!Kamen Rider Zi-O2024-07-27Version 1.0b

Now, let me start this off with a bit of honesty & transparency: Megaman World 3 is cool, but it's NOT my favorite of the five. (Still deciding between 2&5 for that...)

This colorization is - as I've said in the headline - absolutely GLORIOUS!! And just in case you hadn't noticed, the slowdowns of the stock game are totally OUTTA HERE. Do with that bit of info what you will, as the now snappier pace of the game can either be a groovy case of "Don't Stop the Boonboom", OR, it can be an all-out nightmare in the vein of the Nes games...especially with how the challenge is upped ever so slightly because now you have to tighten up your timing even more. Me personally, I LIKE THAT.

Only thing I don't like, and this is pretty much the fault of the programming or the system limitation than anything else, is that even with the added speed, the controls are STILL a classic case of "good, but not great". But that's okay, you can only do so much with what you're given, and this hack alone is an awful lot!!

I am still quite shocked by how incredible this is. Definitely the most superior way to play this game...though I do hope that someday, marc_max and Zynk Oxhyde would collaborate on colorizing the Roll-chan World hacks...now THAT would be the ULTIMATE way to play...yesss!! But as this colorization of Megaman World 3 is, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? WHY HAVEN'T YOU ALREADY GOT THIS SET UP!? GO GET IT AND PLAY IT NOW!! (That is, unless you're waiting for the colorization of Megaman World 4 to finish the series...but why would you wait??)

Exactly the quality I would expecthmsong2024-07-27Version 1.0b

This was done by the same guy who did MMW5DX, so I was expecting a lot from this hack. And this hack lived up the high expectation. Truly.

The best part? Significantly decreases the slowdown. Truly, that alone is worth everything, but the color makes this even more perfect, if that even makes sense.

There really is no reason why you shouldn't use this hack, unless it interferes with another hack that someone would want. Really.

So Vibrant!Mother Kojiro2024-07-20Version 1.0b

This is an absolutely gorgeous colorization hack! Overall, the colors are so rich and diverse, creating an experience that isn't quite surreal, but isn't quite standard, either. You'll see an auburn sunset in Snake Man's stage, pink caverns in Gemini Man's stage, red chemicals in Dive Man's stage, and more! Dust Man and Skull Man in particular have a surprising range of colors, and the sparkles in the first Wily stage are a nice touch. The ending scene has a great palette, too. Even the stage select looks incredible!

The best MM World DX yet!Piggy Chan!2024-07-17Version 1.0

The previous three Mega Man World DX projects were all lovely, but I think this is my favorite one so far, capturing more of the visual elements of the NES originals (arguably the most visually attractive of the NES series). The flashing effect of the fully charged Mega Buster is a particularly nice touch. The only criticisms I would have for the series is that some of the elements that are exclusive to these games (for example, Giant Suzy and Punk in this game) seem a little lacking in detail compared to their counterparts from the NES game. But that seems a minor quibble; if you want to play Mega Man III for the Game Boy, you'll likely want to play this excellent remix from now on.

The color choice is great, making this game feel refreshing. I was never a fan of the monochrome colors of the original Game Boy and thanks to the hacking community, so many games are being colorized and it's awesome. I appreciate the hard work!

Played on VisualBoyAdvance-M V2.0.0 with no issues.

Another colorization done rightLigeia2024-07-17Version 1.0

This is simply amazing and a textbook example of how to do a proper color hack. Color palettes are tastefully chosen and create a very eye-pleasing ensemble. Everything is thouroughly colorized, nothing is left uncolored, and the level of detail and care put into the color choices is astonishing. It simply looks like an official work, if not better.

Recommended ? Yes yes YES ! Congratulations on a stellar job !

Another W for the Mega Man communitySupergamerguy2024-07-17Version 1.0

These DX hacks never disappoint, and not just because adding color to a monochrome game on its own is impressive. The people behind these hacks always seem to know just how to bring these games to life, and World 3 DX is not exception. Apart from the odd purple and green background in Snake Man's stage, the rest of this game looks phenomenal in full color. The environments, enemies, and bosses are bursting with life now, and they warrant a playthrough of this game on their own. The slowdown removal is just the icing on top of another wonderful project.

A near-perfect revitalizationPyrus2024-07-17Version 1.0

Kensuyjin and Marc Max have knocked it out of the park yet again. Mega Man World 3 DX is a perfect love letter to the original while improving on it in all aspects.

The colourization and animation work is wonderful. Every single stage is a visual treat, either by mimicking their NES counterparts or having their own takes on the concepts. Snake Man's stage particularly impressed me with it's strong pinks creating a "scorching summer sunset"-like atmosphere. I enjoyed it a lot. The reimplemantation of unused animations and adding of new effects are the cherry on top. Seeing Mega Man have the colours he has when equipping a weapon on the "Weapon Get" screen makes it help feel like the game was always in colour. I think the shine effects given to the password screen are neat, and having the Robot Master icons have their primary colours essentially wash out all the other colours in the icons when you pick a stage is extremely cool looking. Little touches like that really help bring the game to life.

What I found even more game changing, however, was the removal of slowdown and reworking of hitboxes. It cannot be understated how much this improves the game. The slowdown in MMIII was extremely obnoxious, especially in cases like most of Spark Man's stage. It actively hindered my enjoyment of the original. Having them all gone feels like a dream. Same with the hitbox changes, I could immediately tell that things were different when I was able to get through sections that gave me a lot of trouble in the original with relative ease. The game's much faster and more responsive, amplifying the good parts of its design while dulling the problematic ones. Honestly, the hack would be worth it even without the colour for these changes alone.

I only really have two minor nitpicks. They are so inconsequential that I debated whether to even write them here, but I thought I ought to show that I'm not simply blindly praising the hack, rather, I'm giving my honest thoughts.

Firstly, the names of enemies and the lack of spacing for the Robot Masters' names in the credit's roll have not been corrected. It's not a big deal, but I feel that when making such a definitive improvement on everything else, you might as well fix innocuous stuff like this too (though Pickelman Dada is hilarious).

Secondly, the game does still feature sprite flickering. There is nowhere near as much as in the original, but it is still there. It doesn't really cause any problems with gameplay, but it does not look great visually. I understand that it might just be a case of the limitations of the GBC's hardware, but it's a shame the sprite flickering could not be eliminated completely.

Overall, MMW3DX is a wonderful hack - one that I honestly would never want to play the game without. Things that brought the original game down for me, such as the level design of the latter half of the game, are much more bearable with how much the whole game is optimized, both visually and gameplay wise. It is a true showcase of the passion and love Marc Max, Kensuyjin and the Mega Man community at large have for this wonderful franchise.

wow, amazing hack!ajkmetiuk2024-07-16Version 1.0

Nice work done, just like in 5 DX, the NES style pause screen was very good and all the improvements like color and removal of slowdowns certainly left the game in its definitive version... I recommend it!

Wooooo!!! MEGA MAN CRAZE UNLEASHED!!!P41R472024-07-16Version 1.0

No slowdowns, full color hack, with almost no sprite flickering at all. The color choice from the first 4 robot masters is excellent, so I can guess the rest would be as good or even better.

Thanks marc_max for this amazing color hack.

The gameboy megaman games were always my favourite way to enjoy this franchise.

Another GB Mega Man gets DX treatment!Monhamd muaed10002024-07-16Version 1.0

Just like the other hacks before it, it amazingly succeeded of giving those games that were regarded as mediocre until your amazing efforts finally gave it a chance! During my testing playthrough, I never any issues well playing surprisingly and with that, I recommend it!
