Reviews
| Exactly as promised. | OilFreak | 2023-07-03 | Version 2.5 |
This hack is the best way to experience Pokemon Green for English speaking players. Nothing much to say, because this hack does exactly what you'd expect, but with how many other poorly done hacks there are this one is easily the best option!

Absolutely amazing job on this English GREEN version. Loved playing every step of it. Still waiting on the Japanese RED one now.
| The perfect experience for Pokemon Green, but.. | FUTURA | 2021-12-03 | Version 2.3 |
A perfect English version of Pokémon Green. It has everything that the original Japanese version of Pokémon Green has. But.. the only thing I would ask, is for an optional patch file to restore the sprite names of the PokeMarts. I commend this hack for having all marts have the word "shop" on their walls next to the entrance just like in the Japanese version; however I would very much like for them to read as "mart" as a true English version would have. A patch to restore it for all marts in the game would make this definitively the best. Other than that, this hack is perfect. I don't even think Nintendo could do a better job at an official English version of Pokémon Green if they tried. Patches I used:

Woah! Great work! Now this is really like the original Pokémon Green! You have done well, the title screen and credits have been changed, even the badges menu shows the leader's name! I did not collected all 150 (or 151) to see the Diploma, but I have almost certain it was updated as well. I will be waiting for the English Red version(j) Patch too to play together with Green, so please, just do it!

Once upon a time, I wrote a review complaining about how while this patch was a very solid attempt to recreate Pokemon Green, I couldn't overlook the nitpicky elements that were missing. Now, it appears that these small trifles have actually been ADDRESSED, of all things. Not only was Red's sprite reverted to its original state, but Green's SGB specs were thrown in to boot, with the option to add the flashing and OP Blizzard that had been nerfed to almost nothing! Now, between this, and Ammako's JP Blue hack, all we need now is a restoration of JP Red. I'd say at this point, you could just edit this patch to replicate Red's encounter rates, Game Corner prizes, and NPC trades, and be able to call it a day.

Truly, I accept the fact that Pokemon Blue is Pocket Monsters Green in disguise, but retooling Pokemon Blue as Pokemon Green actually makes it feel like a faithfully true overseas adaption of Pocket Monsters Green! Someone give these guys a medal for their efforts!
