Entertaining HackDrag0nwind2013-01-04-

Just completed this hack... quite good I must say. I was secretly hoping for some extravagant Jason mazes, but oh well... hehe. Level 5 was my favourite... wish it was much longer... it's fun swimming and battling the sea creatures with Jason.

Recommended if you are a Blaster Master fan.

Thanks.

The few of us old enough, at this point, to have grown up in the NES era will probably have fond (and frustrating) memories of Blaster Master. A relatively nonlinear game that made you do a lot of backtracking when you received certain items to help you progress further into the game. The game is also known for its sometimes cruel difficulty and lack of a password system or save system. Although none of those issues are addressed in this hack, the hack is a fun, full-on level redesign of the popular NES title.

The hack is simple and complex in nature. It doesn't change the goofy story about chasing your mutated frog, and it doesn't change the order of the levels or bosses or difficulty. It simply does what it says, changes the designs of the levels. So if you are familiar with the original game, it's a nice change exploring about and rediscovering how much fun the game was to play as a kid. Of course, be prepared to still die a lot or use save states.

Obviously, if you are a fan of Blaster Master then Blaster Master Redesign is a must play.
