| Mega Man Reloaded - GOOD | Dobu_GM | 2024-01-27 | Version 1.4 |
Mega Man Reloaded Levels: Good Graphics: Excellent Music: Okay (MM2 tunes) Enemies: Okay Bosses: Okay Weapons: Eh (ammo usage) Castle: Good (Wily 2 is EXCELLENT) Difficulty: EASY-MEDIUM (Wily 3 is MEDIUM) Comments: From the moment Reloaded boots up, one thing is clear: it looks damn good. Every stage has a strong visual theme, sporting great colors for the foreground and background. Level design is pretty nifty too, frequently challenging the player without spamming spikes everywhere (although be wary of Wily 3!) A couple of the enemies and bosses have been modified in minor ways to make the base experience more smooth, such as reducing their damage or changing their weaknesses. This unfortunately doesn't improve the game all that much (it would've been nice if the weapons and bosses were overhauled), and there's only so much the hack can do with its limited repertoire (it tends to over-rely on fighting mettools at the edge of ledges). Still, it's a well-made hack that rightfully earns a strong recommendation, especially if you're keen on visual improvements over gameplay ones.
| Mega Man Reloaded (mm1 hack) - Тhe hack that surprised | diablo666 | 2022-01-30 | Version 1.4 |
I usually don't touch hacks on MM1. BUT this is a special case. Although the bosses remained the same in AI, they became LESS frustrating. Previously, the most creepy and frustrating bosses were Еlec man and Ice man. Now - these bosses do not take down a lot of health with a single attack, which means they have become more honest. The graphics are nice to the eye, the palette is good. The zones have been reworked very soundly. We can say that we made a "remake" of the original. Graphically, some enemies have also changed. This refreshes the game. I especially liked new Snipers Joe's. For they used to be infuriating when they followed you. Now, like a normal Joe from the other parts - is in place. Bosses have other weaknesses, so you have to guess now. And that's good. After all, there is a primary weakness, and a Secondary one. This also applies to the BOSSES in the castle. Fixed some bugs of the original, which makes the game more playable. Oh, right, there are two patches. And BOTH PATCHES are working properly. Both patches are playable. The "Bass" character is a "Normal" difficulty, and the "Mega man" character is "Easy" Conclusion: the hack refreshes the game to such an extent that sometimes you even forget that it is not the original. This means that this "remake" can be considered a NEW GAME. For those who want to try it, I would gladly recommend it.
| Pretty fun and solid hack. | Timaeus | 2020-09-28 | Version 1.4 |
This hack is pretty good. It is challenging but fun, and I actually enjoyed the new twist that the new health gave to some of the enemies. The level design is pretty good, offering a nice, fun challenge based purely on enemies, which I do not have a problem with. Doing a buster only run of the game is very fun overall, and the nerfs on some of the enemies health (like the Sniper Joes and Big Eyes) was very welcome! The graphics are amazing, especially considering how limited Megaman 1 is. I honestly think the stages could have more variety on theming, though, but what is here is really nice. Amazing graphics overall. My only real issue is that, in my opinion, some of the MM2 songs do not fit well for some stages (Air Man and Wood Man themes). I think using both MM2 and MM1 combined would be better. Also, the Wily 1 and 2 theme from MM1 being used after Wily 3 and 4 theme is a bit unfitting, since one is more fitting for a last stage and the other is more fitting for early final stages. I think swapping them up and using Wily 1 theme on Wily 1, the current Wily 1 theme as Wily 2 theme, and then the original Wily 3 and 4 song would be way more fitting and better for the atmosphere. Overall, the hack is great and it is nice to see good hacks of Megaman 1. The changes made the game more interesting to play around with. Levels and graphics are very nice and, even with some unfitting song choices here and there, I had a good time here. Very solid work. I recommend it.
| Really good, but could have done without the MM2 tracks | Thirteen 1355 | 2019-09-20 | Version 1.4 |
This hack is incredibly potent, and in my opinion better than the original Mega Man. This makes me just want to replay this game every two years rather than the vanilla game. However, the Mega Man 2 music kind of ruins that idea, for Mega Man 2 (which most people tend to play after Mega Man 1) will have the exact same music as this hack. There was nothing wrong with the original Mega Man 1 music, so I don't see why it was replaced in the first place. It feels both pointless and plain annoying for people who see this as the definitive way to play the original Mega Man, who will then continue on to play Mega Man 2 with the exact same music playing, diminishing the sense of uniqueness of a stage.
| Incredibly Good! | Kallisto | 2017-02-08 | Version V1.4 |
This to me has to be the best Megaman 1 romhack on RHDN. The stages were very well put together, and the enemies were actually fun to fight rather than being nuisances on your screen. I only had one issue with one particular stage, and it was wily stage with endless water maze, I felt something else could have been better than trying to slog through that, but overall this romhack rocks! I like how he put all eight bosses together, but not leave you without healing items for each fight toward the end. Definitely recommended!
| Megaman reloaded for real! | Greyfox | 2016-01-03 | Version V1.3 |
This is one of the best megaman hacks that I have ever seen, new graphics, good music quality, major improvements. If there is a rating system, this hack is 10 stars!!! Very good hack indeed.
| Pretty Good Hack | TheLuigiLightning | 2015-09-12 | Version V1.3 |
Admittedly, I haven't played much yet, but from what I've played, it seems pretty good. I like the use of Mega Man 2 music. The level design is actually pretty good, which is unfortunately not very common in Mega Man 1 hacks. I'll probably play through the entire game at some point.
| This Hack Is Awesome! | Megafield64 | 2013-12-25 | - |
So far I would have to say that this is the best hack of Mega Man (NES) that I've played so far. Within the first few minutes of gameplay, I was hooked with the vast amount of fascinating changes there are within the game. The game feels very much like a game where the best of Mega Man & Mega Man 2 were thrown into a blender and this was the result. While I haven't had time to play through much of the game yet, I definitely intend on playing this one all the way through anxious to see what has changed and not to mention, the hack is incredibly fun and feels like a fresh Mega Man experience. And, isn't that what the best hacks are intended to be?
| One of the best Megaman hacks is here! | Zynk | 2013-03-08 | - |
This is what I could say is my immediate fave in all Megaman hacks! This hack could use a review :) Maybe I should break this down to the goods: Music: Reloaded was intended to be a Megaman 1.5 so you'll only get music imported from Megaman 2, so no new music here. At least the music matched each Robot Master from MM2 to MM1. Graphics: This hack features new & old level tiles. Welp, most of the tiles used were borrowed from other Megaman sequels, but all blends well with the new level designs! Aside from stage design, some of the enemy sprites were altered like the Blader. Moreover, there are some AI fixes like Sniper Joe not chasing you when you hurdle over them! Enemies are hardened, but with the right weapon, you can now defeat them with ease (Note: Ice Slasher is the main weapon here)! Level Design: What's good about this hack is that the levels are arranged in a way that you can make it to the Boss' room without a staggering low HP. The levels are virtually playable! No insane difficulty here, unless you reached the Dr.Wily Stages. And, anybody would really like the Gauntlet near the end! Overall: A very, very lovely hack! It's not an insane hard nor an elaborately new kind of hack. Its a well-designed level game hack! I just hope Zieldak would make new Reloaded hacks (*insert Megaman 2 Reloaded here*)! That's all!
