Translation description

After a few months of work, aishsha and I have complete translation patch for Jajamaru Gekimaden. We have translated the title as Ninja Jajamaru: Legend of the Demon's Attack - Castle of Dreams. Hopefully the patch should be without issues.

Reviews

Good translation (of a lackluster game)goldenband2017-10-21Version 1.0

Jajamaru Gekimaden: Maboroshi no Kinmajou is a flip-screen scrolling action RPG in the Zelda vein (with a dash of Startropics). Though it's fairly easy and isn't unpleasant to play, it's still a mediocre effort that lacks personality and doesn't seem well-regarded by fans of the series or by gamers in general.

That said, aishsha and Stardust Crusaders have done a good job with their localization, yielding a bug-free translation that generally flows well, feels natural, and is cleanly implemented. My only criticisms would be that (a) a couple NPCs call your character "bro", which was jarring whenever it happened and felt unnecessary and out of place; and (b) in the hut where you save your game, the phrasing is sufficiently ambiguous that, the first time I tried to save, I accidentally quit without saving instead.

Otherwise I had no problems making my way through Jajamaru Gekimaden, and am grateful for this complete translation.
