Not sure why I haven't bothered to give this very nice translation a review until now considering I've beaten the game a number of times. Anywho, the people over at Rom Hacking Aerie did an absolutely wonderful job with this translation. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is in 100% English. The script is very easy to read; it's not a literal translation or something that sounds like it was written by moon people. Everyone and everything is named correctly too. I did run into a few errors (one specific is when you equip Tetsuya Tsurugi's, pilot of Great Mazinger, unit with a barrier he says "The barrier is top condition!"), yet they weren't game breaking and have no impact whatsoever on the gameplay or the plot. You may not even notice them. These guys even went so far as to hack the introduction screen when they honestly could've left it alone without any of us even batting an eyelash! An earlier reviewer already said it, but the font used is pretty too. It's not an eyesore; it does what it's supposed to. As of writing this, I've run into no glitches or bugs caused by this translation, only the ones that were already in the game (i.e. Shield Defense). Cannot recommend this enough and thanks again to all the people who put time into this awesome game!

This translation is one of the best for an SRW game I've seen yet. It feels pretty much like I just stepped straight from Original Generation to this, it is indeed that good. The dialog is done just about expertly (even handling the common "damn everywhere" thing you see in so many translations correctly! That's bonus points!), and I was able to understand the text just as well as any game brought over to here. I've only seen one bug in this entire thing: during a battle, some spirit commands in a Robot's status (not the spirit command menu itself) such as Assault have a blank space, but that is a positively microscopic nitpick and you won't even notice unless you're looking extremely close. I would say that this translation is on par with professional (uncensored) localizations, and better than some localizations of some mecha shows themselves. A must play translation for a must play game for anyone who is a fan of mecha or turn based strategy in general.

Well, here's one! The crux of the matter: "Does this file do what it says?" Yes, this does exactly what it says it does. This is one of the things that I've been waiting for, for a while. I remember as a child playing 3rd Super Robot Wars in English while listening to "The Winner" from and watching "Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories". (Maybe not too long ago for you guys, but) Good Times... ...Buuuuut that's not what this is about, this is about how good the "tlansration" is. There are relatively few errors, I'm hard pressed to find more than a handful and I'm Impressed. The errors that DID make it through are relatively simple and don't interfere with the plot at all, but you may find yourself hitting the B button to roll back the story because you didn't quite understand the way the sentence was worded at first. (which is a nice feature, the rolling back, whatever it's called. SOME acronym.) This aside, the translation is basically perfect from what little I know. The Menus are done nicely, the font is grate, like housethegrate, and in general I suggest this game because it is one of the more recent non-OG or non-Alpha SRW games, so it has that going for it as well. Wonderful intro screen to boot. If these guys were publicly paid worth a damn for this work, and then this game was subsequently released here [to western audiences] because companies finally said "Damn the Licensing! FULL SPEED AHEAD!!": I would buy it. Now I'm waiting for: SRW MaKi:LoE, EX, 4th, A, D and R.
