This is an English dub patch for Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys on the TurboGrafx-CD. This patch only changes the Japanese voices of the original game into English. The text will remain the same.

It is recommended that you use this patch along side Nightwolve's in game text translation, in order to get the most out of the game.

The patch's size is 105MB, which cannot be hosted here on RHDN due to size limitations. The patch used to be hosted on Burnt Lasagna's project blog but it has since gone offline. Instead, you can get the patch from this Archive.org link.

Simply Amazing!!!Videogamejumkie2022-03-18Version 1.1

Between the great translation done on the game and the amazing work that this group did with the voice acting the game is simply breath taking All of the audio in the cutscenes was redone into English, the game plays and feels like it was a retail release I've played through this more than one time and I'd recommend this to everyone who is a fan of the series

Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!Naniyue2021-05-20Version 1.1

I was so excited to get this game back when it was new, and it didn't disappoint! The fact that it is fully in English now means there is little excuse not to play it! The job is so professional that I wish more awesome TG/PCE (Super/Arcade) CD games would receive such wonderful treatment!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLAY IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thumbs upReal_Character2017-02-21Version v1.1

This is not perfect but it's at least as good as English voice work in games, during the era this game was released. I would say it's even better. There is some weak voice work here and there, but the key characters were good to excellent. There are even effects recreated for weird voices, such as the final form of the last boss. Sounds really good.

I will go ahead and add the mention of the main translation hack. It's hard to judge them since either the dub or the text hack on their own doesn't feel anywhere near a complete translation. When you put them together, you get the full experience.

The game itself is probably the definitive version of the "run into enemies" classic style of Ys gameplay. Maybe I just wasn't good at this, but I had to max out the levels to beat it. It is a bit tedious, so with this beat I doubt I will ever play another Ys game of the sort, but this one is worth playing. All the effort that went into these translation efforts were well worth it.
