Around 15 years ago, an English translation for Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey-bu was created by the group Disconnected Translations. Unfortunately, for most of that time, contemporary Famicom emulators have been unable to play it due to a game-breaking bug that was introduced by the patch; namely, once a goal is scored, the game freezes while trying to display the scoreboard. This patch fixes that bug, among others, making the game 100% playable on current emulators (or at least FCEUX, which is what it was tested on).Screenshots

Thank you so much for this. I MUCH prefer the original faithful translation, not some ridiculous "Crash" or "Ric" crap. But that had a critical bug, so I was very disappointed. And then your patch came. And holy crap, it works great. This game is actually pretty tough, if you ask me (because the final two boss teams are tough). This is probably the 2nd or 3rd toughest Nekketsu game for NES - the first being Kakutou Densetsu, and maybe 2nd being Nekketsu Basketball. | |||
