Translation description

Note the file MKRHARD.IPS in the zip file. This modifies the way that HP is gained when you go up a level. I haven't tried it myself, but I assume that the only thing that changes is the game's difficulty.

Not as Bad as It's Been Made Out to BeKlaviaturist2011-02-22-

I played Magic Knight Rayearth for the Saturn first a couple of months back and really wasn't all that impressed. So naturally I was not looking forward to playing the one for the Super Famicon. Upon playing, other than the over-the-top cutesy like characters and the fact that it is a fairly basic RPG (and that it's easy) I wouldn't not recommend to the regular old school RPGer.

The game is fairly easy and for a seasoned RPGer you'll breeze through most of it. Fortunately, the zip folder comes with a "hard type" that can be patched in. I haven't played the "hard type" patch yet but I suspect it should raise the difficulty enough to at least satisfy.

I have read some reviews comparing the game play and graphics to that of the terrible Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. It's really a much better looking game than MQ and far more satisfying. The only comparison I could see is the fact that the game seems to be made for newbie RPGers.

The translation is not too shabby and it seems the best was made with the dialog. Having said that, because of the games cutesy atmosphere, much of the dialog is hard to take seriously. But I was never a huge fan of the Anime series to begin with.

Well, it's worth taking a look at though. I did have some fun playing through and it's a relatively short game so if you feel like you're wasting your time you won't waste much.
