A vast improvement over Capcom's localizationcapncrunch9922023-02-02Version 1.0

Anyone who's played the English version of Gargoyle's Quest no doubt recalls its contradictions and overly abbreviated item text that lends itself to inscrutability. This patch addresses both issues, and generously expands inventory spacing for more descriptive item names.

While not a literal translation by any means, it does convey a lot more context than Capcom's own translation, and adds a bit of welcome flavor while keeping names and terminology consistent enough with the overall series canon.

Here's to hoping we'll see a similar effort directed at the game's prequel/sequel.

A nice tribute to a still very enjoyable game boy gameBrand.Newman2022-05-11Version 1.0

As a translator myself, I know how difficult it can be to translate a game into another language, especially when technical obstacles come in the way, as they obviously did with the international version of "Gargoyle's Quest".

This led to a game which, while still very enjoyable and good, felt a little bit "barebone" in the story area, with characters being sometimes a bit "cryptic" in their answers.

Now, this translation really spices it up, giving us a much more "fleshed out" story that has convinced myself to finish the game once again!

Do yourself a favor if you liked Gargoyle's Quest (and what's not to like? A game that beautiful, that early in the console's lifespan?) : replay the game to sort of "rediscover" it.

Thank you so much to the author!
