Translation description

This is a translation patch of Final Fantasy III for the Famicom/NES. It aims to be an accurate translation that also uses Square Enix's terminology for its modern remakes of that game. The script is influenced by the DS remake, but the only information expressed by characters is strictly limited to information that was in the original Japanese script. It also aims to be the definitive English version of Final Fantasy III in doing so.

This translation keeps the original ROM format of the Japanese version of the game, thus this should work on hardware as well as any emulator that supports the Japanese version. This translation does NOT expand the ROM. The entire story of Final Fantasy III has been crammed into the 512kb game.

Some grammar issues - needs proofreading.butane bob2020-11-16Version v1.3

I'm unsure if the author is a native English speaker or not, but the grammar in this one is poor. If this kind of thing breaks your immersion like it does to me, then you may wish to try another patch. There's also some gibberish text during the intro sequence after you collect the first crystal (in the Mesen emulator at least).

With multiple issues this early in the game it's likely there are more, I've only just gotten up to the first town "Ur" so I'm really not far in.

Recommended? I'm not sure, maybe... It's not terrible, but I reckon it needs a re-write to fix the script at the very least. I didn't want to recommended it but I didn't want to give it a negative review either. So I'm just being polite and giving a heads up to my fellow grammar nazi's out there.

Thank You!JulianoFdeS2019-07-07Version v1.2

It's a pleasure replay this whole wonderful game again, but now with all the care deserved with accurate translation efforts. Recommended not just for FFIII fans, but to all turn-based RPG fans.
