Translation description

This game is designed for multiple playthroughs, so here's a few tips on how to play this game.

* Like Ayame says in Sakura Wars 1, the man who chases two hares catches neither. Decide on one girl you want to focus on whether it be someone like Sakura, Maria, or Sumire (best girl). Spreading your attention with too many girls will make certain you end up without enough affection points to unlock their more interesting subplots near the end of the game.
* Feel free to sacrifice one person's training sessions with naps to recover your stamina. eg skipping out on Iris' training sessions if you cared the least about her.
* Battles are very difficult. Unless you spent weeks doing something like reading the book Maria gave you, don't bother charging your special meter. Finishing the book unlocks her special move for you to use in battles. Focus more on moving your Koubu into position, defense, and using normal attacks.
* SAVE SCUMMING IS FULLY CONDONED. Occasionally the girl you want to talk to has nothing interesting to say and will essentially go "Hi, bye." Therefore wasting your free time. Alongside how battles are extremely RNG heavy, save states are the only way to guarantee a "good" ending.
* Not to say you should go into the showers, but you might find a character in there that you would never expect.

Other notes
* The Start and Select buttons can be used on the map to travel between floors.
* The Message Speed setting will affect the animation speed of training scenes. If it is set to Fast, the animations will always play at high speed, as if the B button is held down.
* Sakura Wars GB takes place during the events of Sakura Wars 1. It is recommended that you have some familiarity with that game's setting and main characters before starting this game.

Reviews

One of my favorite Sakura Wars entries, gets the definitive treatment! (Also a little spoiler)Monhamd muaed10002024-05-24Version 0.0.1

Sakura Wars GB is one of my top SW games that I enjoy, while it's not great, it's actually pretty good and even groundbreaking for a Gameboy Color game. The cadet character, while he felt like an oddity and like Ogami, it depends on the choices but outside of that, he truly has untapped potential to join the adventures with his fellow comrades (and possibly maidens).

And the translation is a truly a chief's kiss, but the minor issues like for example: when Sumire tells the cadet about why she's afraid of spiders, some of the text aren't centered properly in the text box and it has some space on top.

Overall, the translation is well made and you shouldn't pass this game if you played the mainline SW games, during its development, it was originally a side game rather than a spinoff, so technically this game is also canon on some level.

And my final thoughts are: try this game if you played the English translation of Sakura Wars 1 on the Saturn, you'll enjoy it!

Thanks for the translationYoshiWhite622021-11-11Version 0.0.1

The adventure / visual novel genre is not much to my liking for several reasons. However as long as there is an English translation I always appreciate it. So far I have tried the translation a bit and I have loved it since the Sakura Wars saga is very unknown in the United States and Europe. The translation is good and is recommended for any lover of visual novel. Finally, I hope that with this translation people will be more interested in this saga and there will be more translations of other games that were exclusive to Japan.

Definitely well done, only some minor issuesbubstance2021-11-11Version 0.0.1

Most aspects of this translation appear to be fairly well done, but there are some minor things like spelling issues here and there; for example, the word "receive" is misspelled as "recieve" in the Prologue (and possibly elsewhere).

Hopefully these fairly minor mistakes can be fixed in future updates, as the rest of this translation seems to be very well executed.

Here's hoping that one day the sequel can also get a translation!
