Translation description

SHOCKMAN ZERO English patch 1.0 / 01.2023

Shockman Zero (aka 'Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero' or 'Kaizou Choujin Schbibinman Zero' in Japan) was first released in 1997 for the Satellaview addon for the Super Famicom. It is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up developed by Masaya. In 2017 Columbus Circle gave the game a Japan-only limited release on a physical Super Famicom cartridge. This translation-patch is for the 2017 version of the game. The patch translates all the texts to English. If all worked fine, the internal checksum should be correct.

Have fun ?

A great way to play this hidden gemSupergamerguy2023-02-02Version 1.0

This is a pretty good translation, especially considering how little room the author had available to work with. The font chosen is easy to read, which doesn't always happen for SNES translations. The grammar is mostly solid, with only a few punctuation marks missing (likely due to space limitations). Most importantly, the jokes still land in English! There were a few moments throughout that genuinely made me laugh, moments that would not have landed had they not been in English. Kudos to the hack author, you introduced me to a solid beat-em-up/platformer. Thanks for paving the way for a hour+ of fun!
