bbitmaster

I learned to program as a teenager, and took it up as a personal hobby and interest. At the time I was interested in game development and understanding how old console games worked (particularly NES games). This personal interest lead me to join a community where I met some other incredibly skilled hobbyists and worked on open source projects. Having already learned C, C++, 6502 Machine Code, and Java, by the time I started college as an undergrad, I found that I was way ahead in my CS classes. I was mostly faced with challenges were in math, physics, and engineering courses outside of Computer Science.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering. Up until that point my plans had been to get a job, however I discovered that I found research extremely interesting and decided to pursue a PhD.
