| I applied 7 patches to 1 ROM with this--and it worked! | smbhax | 2023-05-17 | Version 1.31 |
I've been using Floating IPS for all my NES patching needs, and it hasn't let me down. My last Dr. FrankenROMming project was applying seven patches to my own ROM dump of NES Final Fantasy-and Floating IPS did it, and the resulting ROM actually worked just as I'd have wanted. : ) Great! The compact and simple UI is attractive and easy to use; and it will associate with .ips patch files, so you can just double-click a patch file to start the process. The one thing I would like to see it do that it doesn't do now is allow me to apply a queue of patches in sequence to a single ROM all at once, rather than having to apply them manually one-at-a-time. While you can select multiple patches in the UI, instead of applying them all for a single resulting ROM, Floating applies them individually to separate resulting ROMs, each with just one of the patches applied, which is not the use case I'm looking for. : )
| Works flawlessly! | Pudupuda | 2022-05-08 | Version 1.31 |
I am new to the ROM hacking scene, and had no previous experience in applying IPS patches. I can confirm that Floating IPS works flawlessly. Easy to install (I am using Linux), easy to use - totally recommended! A big thanks to the author for their effort.
| Great For Large BPS Files | Immorpher | 2021-10-24 | Version 1.31 |
I was using the beat patcher and it worked great for small files, but as the file sizes started to approach 20 MB it became quite slow. However Floating IPS works like a charm and generates BPS files in a fraction of the time. I now include it as an autopatcher in my batch scripts to for various mods as well! A great program overall for the modding community!
| Wow! I never thought this show was so cool. | Vallenatero2015 | 2021-05-03 | Version 1.31 |
In fact, I didn't even know that this patcher would work better than Lunar IPS. In addition, it allows patching .bps in a Super Nintendo ROM. Great job, Alcaro.
| If you like LunarIPS, use this instead | Kazuto | 2021-04-29 | Version 1.31 |
FLIPS looks and behaves pretty similar to LunarIPS, but it also adds support for BPS patch type, allows applying multiple patches at once, and the big one: by default, it will output a *different* file than the source file. No more easily overwriting your base rom by accident! The default name for the patched rom will be the same as the name of the patch itself. I think this, alone, is enough of a reason to update from LunarIPS, but they don't mention this in the bullet points for the features of FLIPS, so that's why I wrote a review about it. :P
| Mostly the same but better. | Chronosplit | 2021-02-06 | Version 1.12 |
Making smaller patches and the ability to apply multiples is always appreciated. When applying a patch FLIPS will also let you make the patched file as a separate one, perfect for when you're not sure if something's going to work right. Making BPS patches using this is pretty slow going if you don't prioritize speed in the options, but it applies them just fine. Having two patchers in one is handy, especially when it surpasses both of them.
| Works great with Linux! | Weicxiable | 2017-01-16 | Version 1.31 |
Unlike the original Lunar IPS this application this fully compatible with Linux!
