- Reduce experience requirements up to 33%
- Reduce gold requirements up to 33%

Finally, it speeds up the game in numerous ways:
- Reduces flashing and shaking and reduces the wait time between battle statements to speed battles up greatly
- Revives all characters regardless of where you are in the game, (you'll have to go to the inn to restore MP in a two character configuration)
- Skips the prologue.(this is similar to the original Japanese version)

Prince of Cannock Prince of Middenhall?! Awesome.Mitsukara2016-06-17Version 1.0

First of all, as of 2016, Dragon Warrior/Quest II is a game with no romhacks in the database. It's also a game with no properly working editors. That's some sort of tragedy. This randomizer comes to fill that void and bring a new experience to sentimental DQII fans like me.

It can't change the overworld or any map layout, like the DQ1 randomizer (I would LOVE to see that in some future version). But fortunately, the original game was already fairly nonlinear after the early parts, allowing you to go to many different places with the ship... and in this game you may get the Golden Key early, allowing you to use Traveler's Doors to reach new continents before you even get the ship!

The traveler's doors don't give you FULL access to the entire world so I'm pretty sure (?) you'll still need the ship, but they let you do all sorts of things in a previously-impossible order if you happen to get the gold key early enough. I haven't yet managed to get the Princess of Moonbrooke prior to the Prince of Cannock, but I think it should be possible via traveler's doors shenanigans (since you can reach Lianport by way of the teleporter shrines by way of the shrine south of Middenhall). And of course the Mirror of Ra can be in a random new location too.

What you can randomize includes:

  • Party Stats (you may get a prince of Cannock with more HP and attack than the Prince of Middenhall for example)
  • What party members can equip (the Prince of Middenhall can't necessarily equip everything anymore, and the other two characters probably get more options. I got a princess of Moonbrooke with the Helmet of Erdrick and a Steel Shield)
  • How spells work (I got a Fireball that worked like Explodet except on a group like Infernos)
  • Shop and treasure chest contents (you may even find items like the Moon Fragment and Leaf of the World Tree in stores)
  • Enemy encounter zones (...including mixing water and land, so you get Evil Trees in the middle of the ocean, etc)
  • What moves enemies know (...Giants healing and then running away as frequently as Metal Babbles, Slimes that cast sleep, Magic Vampiruses that might cast Sacrifice...)
  • Locations of crests and other searchable items

The customization options for this are fewer than the DW1 randomizer, not allowing you to pick individual subjects to toggle and just picking an extremity of alteration (with five degrees). Only the "Insane" setting will randomize some of those things. However, Insane mode is a lot of fun!

This is a great randomizer for fans of the game. It definitely changes the entire way you interact with the game, by making you reprioritize what your party members do, and having to re-find all the important items in new locations. If you've ever replayed DQII on purpose for fun, like I have, then this is absolutely for you.
