Utility description

I present to your attention the Zombies ate my neighbors level editor, originally written by Piranhaplant and modified by me to edit the Sega Genesis version of the game. I started redoing it last month. At this stage, almost everything has been adapted. The only thing that has not yet been finalized is the ability to safely edit all the levels of the game. The fact is that in the SNES version of the game, all these levels are in the last bank and it is possible to both reduce the size of the rum and increase it. In Sega, the data is located between the game code and there is no way to change the size. I haven't figured out how to get around this yet. You may need to increase the rom and move all the level data to a new location. Or pack of cards metablocks. In the SNES, by the way, they are packed, but all other resources are not. In Segou, on the contrary, Packed with all resources except the palette and cards metablocks. Also, I have not yet disassembled the password generator for
the game. In general, you can still play with the editor

Reviews

It almost works...BillyTime! Games2022-04-01Version 1.0

After playing with the editor for a few hours I found everything to be useful and easy to use.

The only problem and perhaps its fatal flaw is that the game will not save the tiles you place. To specify the you can export tiles as PNG or to a file and save the placed tiles that way, but you can never implement these changes in game.

What this means is at best all you can do is change placements for enemies, items, victims and player starting position. But the maps will always be stock layout.

Should this bug change, I can and will recommend this utility.
