Utility description

Supports editing NES, SNES, Genesis, PCE, GG, WS/C, GB/C, MSX 1+2, NGP/C, SMS, and GBA graphics.

This is the newly rewritten C# version. An older C++ version is also available. The two versions differ in available features and included content.

Plugins can be developed with Visual Studio Express.

Features:
- YY-CHR.NET (English version)
- This version is rewritten in C#. As a result, some features that have been removed from the C++ version, and some functions are not implemented.
- It is now possible to make image format plug-ins in the .NET environment.
- PRG-ROM Pattern Editor is included.
- YY-CHR.NET plugin source code (English) included.
- Option to swap between English and Japanese through menu selection.

Whether you're swapping graphics between games or designing your own, YY-CHR.NET is a great program to use. It's so easy to copy and paste graphics between games or programs, plus there are a multitude of other useful tools, and it also covers multiple systems. So far I've used it for NES and SNES and it's great for both. Graphically, if you can think it, you can make it happen with YY-CHR.NET. A big thank you to the creators!

This version is under development, you have to be very careful because after saving to start the game after some change you will not be able to revert the change. I look forward to this full version there are many improvements.

This is a great utility, and an "almost" perfect replacement for the old version of YY-CHR. I say almost because it lacks a feature the old one had, which is hovering the mouse on tiles to reveal their hexadecimal pattern. The new additions are welcome, but the removal of old additions is not. Currently I have the new YY-CHR as well as the old one on my PC so I can have access to all these features. This upgrade surpasses the old one in almost every aspect, minus that one feature.

This graphics editor is the best one out there, it allows you to customize everything, from palettes to graphical organization to editing window size, all with incredibly useful drawing tools as well. It WOULD be the perfect program, if only it had a feature that let you lay out tiles on a separate board like Tile Layer Pro does, so that a hacker can edit larger images that may not be easily structured in the default layout of the ROM. If this feature was added, it would make this editor the ultimate way to make graphical ROMhacks.

I'll admit it. This version brings a feature that I love into its functionality which is copying stuff directly from my Photoshop program and into the YYCHR sheet itself! You'll have to make sure it's whatever color limit for like 8 bit or 16 bit, but even then the colors can be adjusted with its wonderful feature called Replace Color that is located near the Load Emulator State icon on the bar. True the default color scheme of purple throws you off a bit (purple for me) but can be easily adjusted. For those that want easy route mixed with old but upgraded with the new, get this version!
