Hack description

In the original game, the slot command has many flaws. The reels have a rigged mechanism and the reels combination can be determined independently of the player participation. When the rigged mechanism isn't triggered, it is difficult to align three equal symbols, resulting in the relatively useless Lagomorph spell. If the player is unlucky, he can trigger the Evil Joker Doom combination which immediately kills the party.

The patch changes the slot command algorithm. The first slot determinates the triggered spell, with a initial success chance of 33%. All subsequent slots, with the same symbol as the first slot, add 33% of success chance by slot. Based on the success chance, the spell is triggered or fails. When it fails, the Lagomorph spells is triggered.

The reels were unrigged and evened and the Evil Joker Doom spell was removed.

Fine if it weren't for a game-crashing bugZackNAttack2020-06-26Version 2.0

So there's two parts I find issue with: The first being a major bug, the second a matter of taste.

First and foremost: When Terra's morph timer runs out, the game corrupts and crashes. If thou wants to use this hack, thou has to never use Morph.

Second: Just a matter of taste, but I feel like there's not that much of a punishment for messing up the slots. If the chances were changed from 33% 66% 99% to something like 10% 50% 100% or if messing up a jackpot would give party Joker's Doom instead of Mysidian Rabbit, I would like this more. Also, Joker's Doom can be gotten against bosses that usually disable the ability to roll Joker's Doom.

Of course, the first issue is much more important.

Overpowered, way unbalanced.TheZunar1232013-06-26-

(Review for version 1.0)

Granted, Setzer's Slot command is originally unbalanced and underpowered, but this patch flips that around and makes it totally overpowered. You get a ton of effects from the Slot command that you may or may not have ever seen before, and there's no drawback to it. I find myself constantly using Slot instead of Fight with Setzer since this patch totally breaks the command. Heck, when playing normally I never ever got Joker Doom before and using this patch I've gotten it a ton.

If the patch was to be rebalanced, it should just simply unrig the slots and even them out, but keep the regular algorithm of having to line up three of the same thing (and resulting in Lagomorph if you mess up).
