Hack description

There are only two songs in the game, both were composed by professional bands and borrowed from the movie's soundtrack. The first song which is heard throughout the bulk game is a sped up version of Power of Love by Huey Lewis & the News. The second song is a sped up version of Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry that plays at the dance. Both songs play at twice the speed, an error people believe programmers somehow forgot about. This patch slows the tracks down to half speed so that they can now be enjoyed for what they should have been in the first place.

Now Slightly Less MediocreEldrethor2021-08-06Version 1.0

Well, this hack does exactly what was described, and it's a nice change.

Power Of Love sounds only slightly more familiar, now that you can hear some semblance of its guitar track playing through a sound font that doesn't really work. If anything, the font used for Johnny B. Goode's guitar riff would have been a much better choice. While we're on that subject, Johnny B. Goode is surprisingly clear and recognizable, and actually sounds really nice as an 8-bit rendition.

Like many other people, I never picked up on the fact that there was actual music from the Back To The Future soundtrack in the game, and that it was too fast to recognize. I think part of it was also the expectation that we would hear that adrenaline rush of an overture, which is missing entirely from this game. I'm still left pining for a more robust soundtrack, and I would argue that the overall rhythm of the game's meager two tracks is now a tad too slow, but this music fix is a nice change to an otherwise mediocre game.

Works great! Such a nice fix. I remember AVGN originally saying this game didn't have music from the movie and then later realized it was just too fast to recognize. Nice to see it come full circle here.

a nice added bonus to a so so gamejodafro6192020-04-20Version 1.0

this definitely slows it down so you can actually tell what the songs are. the nerd said that there was no songs from the movie on this game and now he is proven wrong lol!! this patch also works for the enhanced hack to have the complete back to the future experience on the nes.
