Mega Man Star Force

Platform : Nintendo DS

Publisher : Capcom

Release date : 14 December 2006

Category : Role Playing > Action RPG

Game description

Mega Man Star Force is the sequel to the Mega Man Battle Network series, taking place 200 years in the future. Technology has advanced, and the Internet has evolved into a network of EM waves that spans the globe.

You play as Geo Stelar, a young boy who lost his father in a mysterious space accident, and has grown reclusive ever since. However, his world is upended when he meets Omega-Xis, a boisterous alien who seems to have some knowledge of Geo's father. Omega-Xis is being pursued by a legion of warriors from Planet FM, who are bent on conquering Earth. Now, the unlikely duo must team up to become Mega Man, a hero who can protect the planet from the FM-ian threat.

Mega Man Star Force's combat system is based on that from Mega Man Battle Network, a unique blend of turn-based RPG and real-time action. Battles are now fully in 3D, with the camera located behind Mega Man's back, and are more action-oriented than ever. Mega Man can only move on 3 panels, but gains new lock-on and shield abilities.

The game came in three different versions: Pegasus, Leo and Dragon, each having a unique transformation, boss and Battle Cards. A tie-in peripheral known as the Wave Scanner was released in Japan only, which connected to the game and added extra gameplay elements in battle.
